In late August of 2018 during a routine mammogram,  I was informed by a radiologist that there was a spot on my left breast that would need to be biopsied. I wasn’t overly concerned as I had previously had a biopsy that came back all clear and I have no breast cancer in my family. I spent Labor day weekend on my boat watching beautiful sunsets while praying that it would come back benign.  A week later I was told by my doctor that I had stage 1 breast cancer. What? That can’t be right. Thankfully, we were able to get in the next day to meet with my breast surgeon.  A few weeks later I was scheduled for a lumpectomy and went through 20 sessions of radiation.

On December 7, 2018, I completed my treatment and rang the bell signifying the end of my cancer journey. At least the treatment part of the journey was over. The emotional journey is never completely over.

One year later in September of 2019 I gathered my family and friends and threw myself a F*ck Cancer Party on our boat on the same lake I was one year prior praying that I didn’t have cancer. This was my opportunity to Celebrate Life! and put my cancer journey behind me.

Pink Wishes was created to give breast cancer survivors the opportunity to getaway with a loved one and Celebrate Life!

I want to provide breast cancer patients with an opportunity to getaway and reflect on their cancer journey and move forward living each day to it’s fullest.
